My Return To Hyboria and Review!

Alicia William's from AngryGuildLeader.com recently returned to Hyboria and reviewed what has changed since the launch of our award winning game, "Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventurers"

Personally, I say see for yourself. As for me the answer lay in the company, Funcom. I have never seen so much effort put into a video game, and honestly, I’ve never seen a group of people care so much about one game. Their communication with the player base is by far the best I’ve seen on any forums. The company has class advocates that speak one-on-one with players and relay information, suggestions, and neededchanges directly to Funcom.

Rating: 8/10

World 10/10 - Hands down one of the most beautifully built games I’ve ever seen. The land is large, and you really can immerse yourself in the world. I’ve never seen a game do it better, and I have to say it is one of the most impressive things about Age of Conan.

Role-Playing 9/10 - While I’m not a role player, the role playing community seems unbelievably strong. You can go to the official forums and see all of the well-written stories people have made simply for their character, or you could read all about the lore woven into this beautiful game. I’m really impressed with the role players, even if Funcom seems to put them on the back burner. Something that could make this score a perfect 10 is something to do with clothing design. Not only are people forced into the same “look” with end-game gear, there is absolutely no way to change it. You do not have an appearance tab, you cannot forge another garb’s appearance onto your armor, and there’s very little role-playing clothes to dress into whenever these people are at special events. Aside the aesthetics, the community of role-players have really come together and formed a strong bond.

Spells, Abilities, and Combos 8/10 - Fatalities are some of the coolest things to see. If you’re melee you slice somebody’s head off while blood splatters across your screen. If you’re a caster, your opponent is completely mutilated by whichever element you call upon them. Overall, it’s a really cool thing to watch. If you don’t get a fatality, the movements and summonings are still very entertaining to watch.
