vOv Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 (edited) " The US Army and the Global Gaming League have made a deal which entails the military investing two million American dollars into the development of the gaming community, according to the USA Today. GGL in turn will provide media assistance to the military. "The consumer model for traditional media is changing," says Gary Bishop, who oversees Army marketing and advertising. "We're grappling with the challenge of how do we better use new media to tell the Army story. Online is probably the best way." GGL is a gaming community site that blends game news and play. Founder Ted Owen describes it as "ESPN meets MySpace for gamers. Video gaming is a culture. The Army has been a very forward thinker. They get it." The program will launch in June of 2007. GGL is estimated to have 9.2 million monthly visitors, 80% of which are aged 17-24. " Fuente GGL USA Today Edited April 14, 2007 by Báhdom
