De acuerdo con CVG, Midway va a renombrar UT2007 a Unreal Tournament III, aunque este shooter sería la cuarta versión en estas series. "CVG has learnt that Midway and developer Epic will be announcing a slightly confusing name change for the hotly-anticipated Unreal shooter soon, possibly later today. We believe that the name change is to coincide with the game using the latest Unreal engine, cleverly dubbed Unreal Engine III." Algo extraño, pero de igual manera este Shooter va a dar mucho que hablar sin importar el nombre que use al final, sin duda un gran juego para este año.
