chobo

Chobo adj. (pronounced Cho-bo)

The word chobo is of Korean origin, and generally refers to a persons lack of skill. The roots of the word cho (start) and bo (step) make it synonymous with newbie, beginner, novice, and other words of this nature.

The adoption of the word chobo by gamers and English speakers has spawned an important distinction to the original meaning. Referring to somebody as a chobo DOES NOT assume they are new to something, only that they lack skill or expertise. This is both a broader and harsher interpretation of the word, making its use applicable to almost anybody who is not considered good at something.

Other forms of the word include:

Choboness

Chobofied

Chobofication

Exe is a chobo at Starcraft.

Neme choboness cost us the game.

You chobofied that move.

The chobofication continues
